After having been equipped with a new Zerodur main mirror in 1998, the 1.23m telescope has got now a new secondary of the same material too. The optical system remains unchanged. Curvature sensing measurements proved the optical properties to be very good. |
Additional straylight baffles have been installed in front of the detector. This reduced the scattered light to a great extend. |
In order to reduce the warming of the dome - and for the sake of the observer's comfort - the control room was moved to the ground floor. This required an automation of the dome control. |
Temperature sensors have been installed in order to compensate for thermal changes in the focus. However, this option is still not available. |
